Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to fill out a short waiver and to take a look around the studio. Wear clothes that allow you to bend and move freely in and that you don’t mind getting a bit sweaty. You’ll definitely want a pair of grippy socks, which you can purchase online or at the studio.

Sara Peelle, co-owner of Xtend Barre Beaverton and Xtend Barre Scripps Poway, is a devoted mother of three with a passion for promoting an active and healthy lifestyle. The Oregon-born taltive graduated from the University of Oregon with her B.S. in General Science and went on to earn a doctorate in Physical Therapy from Loma Linda University. She loves teaching Xtend Barre and loves the workout. Since starting Xtend Barre, Sara qualified for the Boston marathon and was able to reach her fastest time in 7 marathons. She credits this to Xtend Barre’s muscle elongating, fat burning, and muscle toning capabilities, which are not inherent in other barre workouts.
Julie grew up in the Beaverton area and has always loved dance and fitness. She has been the Studio Manager since 2013 and became an Xtend Instructor in 2014. She fell in love with the Xtend workout and the long, lean legs it creates! Her favorite move is 1st position plies on releve until shaking! Julie enjoys camping, watching her two kids play sports and spending time with family and friends.
Amy is a Portland native with a genuine excitement for health and wellness. She spends her time working as a Registered Dietitian at Nike and dances professionally for the Portland Trail Blazers. Xtend Barre aligns with her personal passions in life and keeps her body strong and toned for dancing in a crop top! Amy loves an intense arms series (especially with the stretchy band) and a good sweaty class!
Angie spent many years in New York City studying dance, performing, and refining her movement expertise before moving back home to Portland, Oregon. With a degree in Modern Dance and Classical Pilates Certification, Angie’s classes are influenced by her background in dance, yoga, and Pilates. She loves being back in the Northwest, taking advantage of every opportunity for hiking, biking, camping, and enjoying the city of Portland’s vast foodie culture!
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Emily has always understood the importance of good health. A Family Nurse Practitioner and mother of 2 sons, she is also co-owner of Xtend Barre Beaverton. Creating a supportive, healthy community of women was the most appealing feature of becoming an Xtend owner. Her favorite Xtend exercise is “abs under the barre” because it is ALWAYS a challenge! In her spare time, Emily enjoys running, hiking and entertaining.
I found Xtend Barre in 2012 and immediately after, became an instructor. Xtend fulfills my passion and love of dance and combines it with Pilates based exercises to lengthen and strengthen all body types. The creativity we are able to bring, keeps content fresh, and I sometimes enjoy having a theme or focus to my class! As any Oregonian, I love to keep moving and in nature with loved ones.
Raised in Beaverton, Natalie’s life has been immersed in dance and the health sciences, and in 2013, Xtend became a natural extension of those passions. She loves the whole-body toning, cardiovascular challenge, and graceful framework that keep each class fun and effective. While pushing the body and focusing the mind, she strives for supportiveness and smiles in the studio. Natalie finds inspiration in laughter, music, and being a mama.
Born and Raised in Oregon, Becca is a Balanced Body Pilates Instructor, soon to earn a National Dance Educator Certification, a mother of two girls, and recently blessed with her first boy. She loves the art behind great form and that Xtend Barre emphasizes proper technique. Her morning always starts early with a great cup of coffee and her weekends are usually spent shooting weddings with her photographer husband.
Valerie is from Newport, Oregon and has been teaching at Xtend Barre Beaverton since it opened in 2012. She loves that Xtend Barre combines her background in professional ballet and exercise science into one complete body workout. Valerie’s teaching style combines the grace and poise of classical ballet with challenging fitness and Pilates principles to ensure an exciting and inspiring class.
Meet Zay! A Portland Oregon native who is passionte about health and serving her community by improving the lives of women and children. “Xtend allows me to reach women in another way by empoweing and encouraging folks to give their all in one hour,” she states. In Zay’s class, the ball will become your best friend! Outside of Xtend she is a mother, DV advocate, midwifery student, doula, and African dancer.
“I have been taking barre classes for the past two years in Portland and while I was getting a great workout, I always had to find extra time for cardio after class. Xtend Barre provides a total body workout in just 55 minutes. It is the perfect fitness routine for busy moms like us.” A native Portlander, Whitney Mallard has been practicing Pilates for over ten years and the Barre method for the last two. She was introduced to the Xtend Barre workout by her good friend Sara Peelle, who owns a studio in Scripps Poway, and immediately became hooked. She now co-owns Xtend Barre Beaverton with Sara and a good friend, Emily Harrington, and is thrilled to introduce the workout to the community she grew up in. Like any other mother of a busy toddler, Whitney often finds it difficult to fit in a full body workout. She fell in love with Xtend Barre because it allows her to get in and out of the studio in just under an hour having completed total body workout that sculpts, strengthens, and includes cardio in just 55 minutes.
