About the studio

Xtend Barre® SLC is conveniently located on 450 East 900 South, just four blocks west of the 9th and 9th shopping district and walking distance to Liberty Park. Our studio offers plenty of parking for clients and easy access to I-15, I-80 and 700 East. We are the first free-standing barre studio in Utah and are excited to bring this full body workout to the SLC community.

Before Your First Class…

Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to fill out a short waiver and to take a look around the studio. Wear clothes that allow you to bend and move freely in and that you don’t mind getting a bit sweaty. You’ll definitely want a pair of grippy socks, which you can purchase online or at the studio.

Meet our instructors

Hollie Strasburg

Moving to Utah at a young age, Hollie quickly acquired an appreciation for an active lifestyle. Hollie enjoys a variety of activities including hiking, biking, running and golf. While attending the University of Utah where she received a Bachelor’s of Finance Hollie starting practicing Pilates to compliment her sports training and help stay balanced. Always on the hunt for an effective total body workout, Hollie was introduced to Xtend Barre and was instantly hooked.

Keri McGuire

Keri grew up studying ballet and loved the grace and posture that it taught her at a young age. Keri danced and cheered throughout her high school years and then became an avid golfer while attending the University of Utah where she received her B.S. in Finance. After years of practicing Pilates and becoming mat Pilates certified, she was introduced to Xtend Barre®. Keri is now the proud owner of 3 Xtend Barre studios.

Allison Petersen

Allison has been in the Fitness industry since 2005 holding both Primary Group Fitness Certifications from ACE and AFFA.  By combining two of her loves, Pilates and dance, Allison knew she had struck gold when she found Xtend Barre, where time flies and results come quickly.  Allison considers herself a fitness activist and believes everyone can find a workout they enjoy because it doesn’t have to be boring!

Megan Corrent Langford

Megan has over 25 years of dance experience in ballet, jazz, hip hop and modern dance. Megan spent time dancing on the Gonzaga Dance Team and continues her active lifestyle through yoga, jogging and of course, her favorite, Xtend Barre. She has a graduate degree in business and works for an international consulting firm, but above all else loves being a mom to baby Harrison.

Cher Jolley Parkes

Cher is a fully certified Pilates instructor and enjoys both contemporary and classical methods of Pilates. She aims to educate clients on the essence and correct form of movements so it stays with them after class ends. Teaching for Xtend allows her to share her love of Pilates and knowledge of fitness and see the increased empowerment and changes in clients’ bodies.

Kellie Van Dyke

Kellie is a SLC, Utah native. She has 18 plus years dance experience, including jazz, ballet, hip hop, contemporary and tumbling. She has been teaching dance since 2004 and currently teaches at Studio 56 in Murray. She is a new Mother and when she’s not teaching she loves to spend time with her family. Kellie has a passion for dance, fitness and motivating others to stay active and healthy.

Kristen Doyon

Kristen grew up with a love for dancing, which grew into a passion for cheerleading, stunting and gymnastics. While attending college at the University of Utah, Kristen worked for the Universal Cheerleading Association, where she taught and choreographed high school cheerleaders. She has continued her active life through Pilates, TRX, snowboarding, wakeboarding, golf and running. Kristen is thrilled to be a part of the Xtend Barre team, and to share this amazing workout with Salt Lake.

Lexi Farr

Lexi loves being apart of the Xtend Barre team! She has always had a passion for fitness and loves the Xtend Barre workout! Outside of Xtend Barre she teaches math to high school students, enjoys the sun and hiking with her dog and husband.

Kendra Phipps

Kendra has been a professional performer for over 15 years and has taught and choreographed dance for over 14 years. Searching for a new and fresh way to stay active while keeping dance closely involved she was introduced to Xtend Barre. Kendra has a passion for teaching and is excited to be a part of Xtend Barre SLC, and most importantly in helping others achieve their personal best.

Taryn Maughan

Having dedicated over 10 years to the health and wellness industry and being a dedicated Xtend Barre client since the grand opening, Taryn is now excited to be a part of the Xtend Barre team! She is always enthusiastic and eager to apply her knowledge and expertise towards helping others succeed in the path to wellness.

Jenny Larsen

Jenny has been teaching fitness for 17 years and enjoys getting everyone moving. Jenny loves to teach all formats of fitness from Pilates to Spinning, Hip-hop to CrossFit, Kickbox to Muscle Pump and now Xtend Barre! Anything to get your heart pumping. In addition to her Xtend Barre certification, Jenny is an NASM and ACE certified personal trainer, CrossFit certified trainer, STOTT Pilates Instructor, Dietmasters Nutrition Coach and CHEK Institute Medicine Ball coach.

Raquel Goodsell

Raqi has over 21 years of dance experience which includes Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop, Tap, and Contemporary. She has danced coast to coast as a professional dancer with some of the biggest names in the industry. She currently teaches dance at Dance Impressions in Bountiful Utah. She has a great passion for dance and fitness and is excited to be a part of the Xtend Barre team.

Corinne Penka

Corinne graduated with a BFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah. She currently dances and performs with both Penguin Lady and Movement Forum. Corinne is also a dance specialist with Tanner Dance’s Arts in Education and a personal trainer. When not dancing like a fiend or teaching kids to move like molten lava she is usually sipping coffee, gettin’ her yoga on or running madly on some mountain trail.
