About the studio

If you’re expecting another barre workout, think again. Xtend Barre is a body-enhancing addiction made up of an elegant yet energetic combination of Pilates, dance and ballet moves. We are a fun, sweaty and challenging workout. We invite you to see for yourself by taking advantage of our new client specials: 2 classes for $34 or your 1st month of unlimited classes for $149.

Our beautiful, bright and spacious studio has 3 sunny classrooms and hosts over 50 classes per week, including specialty classes for the pre and post-natal population, as well as babysitting services during select class times. We are ideally and conveniently located in Brooklyn Heights, adjacent to the Borough Hall subway station where you can catch the 2/3/4/5 & R trains, and a few blocks from the A/C/F at Jay Street.

Before Your First Class…

New clients must fill out their liability waiver form before their first class. Grippy socks are required. Feel free to bring your own or buy a pair from us. Don't be late. If you’re more than 10 minutes late, we can’t let you into the class. No mobile phones permitted in the studio. Please inform your instructor if you are pre/post-natal or have any pre-existing medical conditions. If you need to cancel your reservation, please note your studio’s cancellation policy in order to avoid being charged a late fee. You may cancel online or by using the Xtend Barre app. Email and phone cancellations are not accepted.

Meet our instructors

Kristine Storie

Kristine is a Brooklyn native and former Finance geek turned fitness buff. She discovered Xtend Barre in 2010 and knew immediately that it was her golden ticket out of the corporate world. She is a certified Balanced Body Pilates instructor, holds a B.S. in Business from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA from Stanford University. Kristine’s classes are jam packed with lots of cardio and replete with detailed alignment cues to help her students better understand the movements.

Amanda Jenny

Originally from New Jersey, Amanda has been dancing since the young age of three and has experience teaching various different modalities of dance and fitness. She holds a BFA in Dance from the Boston Conservatory and is a Balanced Body Pilates mat instructor. Her bright and sunny personality is a welcome distraction from the intensity of the workout. Amanda loves to work the booty, so expect a lot of seat work in her classes.

Amber Nalle

Amber was born and raised in Massachusetts, and has been dancing since the young age of 4. She has performed as a soloist in Chicago, Pittsburgh, Massachusetts and NYC, including Lincoln Center. Although now retired from professional dancing, she continues to share her love of ballet and dance through teaching and choreography. Amber teaches an intense and challenging class, sprinkled with a bit of humor to help carry you through the workout.

Laura Winelander

Laura grew up in Baltimore, MD studying dance, choreography, theater and gymnastics. She is comprehensively trained, PMA certified Pilates instructor. She currently works with the Roschman Dance Company, teaches Pilates throughout NYC and is currently pursuing her Xtend Barre certification. Laura is a tough and honest instructor with an eagle eye and her witty quips will have you laughing throughout class.

Rochelle Baca

Rochelle is originally from upstate New York and fell in love with mind body exercise disciplines while pursuing her undergraduate degree at Syracuse University. This passion eventually led her to pursue a career in fitness. This braniac also holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University, where she studied breast cancer research. She is a Power Pilates certified mat instructor. Rochelle teaches a strong, intense, athletic class … you will feel the burn!

Susan LoPiccolo

Susan, a native Long Islander, has had a passion for ballet since she was a young girl. She is a certified AFAA group fitness instructor and teaches classes in Insanity and Cardio Sport.  Susan has trained with Shaun T. since 2012 and is a cast member in various Focus T25 videos. Don’t be fooled by Susan’s soft-spoken personality…once class starts it is game on! Susan is truly an inspiration and is the absolute embodiment of health, wellness and positivity.

Chandler Farren

Chandler hails from Pittsburgh, PA and holds a B.A in Dance from Point Park University, with a concentration in Jazz. Shortly after graduation, she earned her Actors’ Equity Card and moved to the Big Apple to pursue her dreams. Chandler is an avid yogi, a dance instructor and most recently certified in Xtend Barre. She teaches a challenging and fluid class, accompanied by a megawatt smile and loads of positivity and encouragement.

Nicole Calabrese

Nicole has been dancing since the age of 4 and holds a B.F.A. in Dance and a minor in Marketing from SUNY University at Buffalo. She has been teaching, choreographing and performing ever since (including stints in Vegas, China and on Carnival Cruise Lines) and is currently a member and co-managing director of Mint Dance Company. Nicole delivers a well-rounded and fun class that draws upon her eclectic background and her passion for music, fitness, and mind body wellness.

Jaimie Salkovitch

Originally from Cleveland, Jaimie came to NYC after receiving her BFA in Musical Theatre from Syracuse University. She also holds a Masters in Childhood Special Education from Fordham University and currently works as a special education teacher in Brooklyn. Additionally, Jaimie holds a 200-hour yoga teacher certification. Jaimie brings her fun and peppy personality to the barre, where she pays close attention to alignment, breath, good music, and most importantly, having fun.
