A city girl who was born and raised in West Virginia, Shawna fell in love with Xtend Barre while living in San Diego, CA. After 16 years with the Department of Justice, she decided it was time to mix things up and pursue something she was really passionate about! Xtend Barre combines her love of dance with a fun, high-intensity workout! A wife and doggie-mom who tries to live each day to the fullest, Shawna often sneaks in a yoga class or a run on the Greenway.
Julia fell in love with Xtend barre classes in the fall of 2014. She had been an avid runner but was excited to try the full body workout that Xtend offers. She felt immediately welcomed at the studio and loved the energy of each Xtend Barre class. As a third grade teacher she is excited to combine her love of teaching with her passion for a healthy lifestyle.
Originally a gym regular from Charleston, Kristen fell in love with barre when she moved to Charlotte and took her first class in 2012. After a few years, Kristen found herself adding in cardio on top of taking barre classes 4-5 days a week. That is when she found Xtend Barre in the fall of 2015 with the perfect combination of ballet, cardio, Pilates, toning and sculpting. Her passion for fitness is what drives her to help clients push themselves physically and mentally while having fun at the same time.
Naomi has always had a passion for fitness and healthy living. During an adventure with her “fit bestie” to try new studios in Charlotte, Xtend was 2nd on her list and needless to say she did not make it to her 3rd! Naomi immediately became addicted to the technique, the energy, and the community of Xtend – not to mention the results she started to notice! Being able to get a full-body workout WITH cardio in just an hour fit right in with Naomi’s busy life of being a full-time mom and accounting manager. When the opportunity came to become an instructor, it felt meant-to-be for Naomi and she’s so very excited to pass on her passion to others as an instructor and be an active member of the Xtend Barre family.
Lexi has always been adamant about getting in a good workout, whether that be going on a long run or putting in some time at the gym.Xtend Barre inspired her at a whole new level when she first tried out the Xtend Barre method in summer of 2016, by offering a perfect mix of cardio, sculpting, and strength in such a short class.As an attorney by day, Lexi excitedly took the opportunity to join Xtend Barre Charlotte’s team of helpful, energetic instructors because she wanted to share her passion for Xtend with others who are looking for an enjoyable, efficient, and effective workout.
Elle was a ballet dancer for half her life but that didn’t stop her from feeling pretty intimidated when she wandered into the Xtend Barre studio for her first workout in a long time. An unexpected spine surgery had shaken her life up, and she was expecting to feel totally out of place, beyond her limits, and scared. Instead, she left the studio feeling strong and completely in control of her body. Elle loved the familiarity of the barre-centered high-intensity workout, and that it offered advancements and modifications – there was truly an option for everyone! It was love at first sweat! Elle also loves being a wife, corporate attorney, blogger, and fur mommy. She’s excited to motivate clients to believe in themselves the way Xtend Barre reminded her to believe in herself again.
Alyssa did not know she could love working out until she tried Xtend Barre in the Spring of 2016. She immediately loved being a part of the studio community and the experience of getting stronger alongside friends and familiar faces.
She’s loves that each class is different, so she never gets bored and she’s able to challenge her body in new ways each class.
As an elementary school teacher, Alyssa was thrilled by the opportunity to join the Xtend Barre team and xtend not just her fitness limits, but her teaching limits as well!
