Anna started dancing as a little girl, and competed in all kinds of dance throughout high school (ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, modern, etc.). After hanging up her pointe shoes, she started running and taking yoga, boot camp, and Body Pump classes, trying to find something that she truly loved doing. After discovering Xtend Barre, despite sweating and struggling through her first few classes, she loved the energy and ballet movements of the class. Xtend Barre allows her to reconnect with her passion for dance, while also getting her into great shape! She also loves the upbeat music, the props, and the way that no two classes are the same. In her free time, Anna loves writing about gluten free food! Anna’s a contributing blogger at The DC Ladies, and loves finding new recipes and restaurants around DC and Northern Virginia.

Molly grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs, but after graduating from Virginia Tech in 2011 she now calls Northern Virginia home. Molly has always been a health and fitness junky – she grew up playing soccer, ran her first half marathon last year, and has tried any and every workout she could get her hands on! Molly secretly dreamed of being a fitness instructor one day, but couldn’t find the workout she was passionate enough about to teach. Enter Xtend Barre! Molly was introduced to Xtend through a friend while she was training for her half marathon and was hooked after her very first class! There was no other workout that could give her that feminine, lean and toned body that she had always hoped for as an athlete. She hopes to inspire and energize clients to challenge themselves and achieve the results they always dreamed of, one pulse at a time!
Melissa started taking barre classes nearly three years ago in association with her fitness blog, Burn it Off D.C. She fell in love with the Xtend methodology and now she’s a certified Xtend instructor. Xtend allows her to share the passion for dance she’s had her entire life and with others. She is an avid runner and completed the New York City Marathon, Marine Corps Marathon and dozens of half marathons. She believes that the full-body sculpt offered by Xtend is the perfect complement to running and recommends Xtend to runners for this reason.

Always up to try a new fitness class, she became hooked on Xtend Barre when the Old Town studio opened up just down the street from her home. The sculpting and strengthening moves in Xtend proved to be the perfect complement to her running, and the fantastic community was the perfect outlet after a day in the office. Kate grew up in the Midwest, where she began dance at an early age. In her teen years, she picked up basketball and played it throughout college. After she graduated, she kept active trying various workouts while moving around the country with her military husband. Her passion for dance was completely revived when she began dancing salsa as an adult. When Kate moved to Virginia, she discovered Xtend Barre and was hooked after one class. The workout incorporated everything she loved into one class: movement, strength training, sculpting and cardio. As an instructor, Kate hopes to help everyone to build confidence and experience energy and empowerment through her classes. She believes in the “Yes, I can” sensation of pushing through one’s preconceived limits.
I got into Xtend because I was looking for a barre studio that reconnected me to my ballet roots, infused cardio, and gave me a nice, lean toned body–especially in the abs! I got all of that from my first visit to Xtend and is why I’m still addicted and am loving being an instructor. My goals as an instructor are to bring a creative class that flows smoothly and quickly and to get to know all the clients on a personal level.
